Administers South Carolina Asian Longhorned Beetle Cooperative Eradication Program through overall program management, collaboration with other agencies and Division personnel, reporting and cooperative agreement management, personnel management and supervision, and budget oversight.  Performs other duties as assigned.


30% - Essential - Program Management:  Directs and coordinates activities of Asian Longhorned Beetle (ALB) Cooperative Eradication program in South Carolina in close cooperation with United States Department of Agriculture-ALB South Carolina lead and South Carolina State Plant Regulatory Official.  Program responsibilities include public outreach and education, regulatory and enforcement response, ground and tree survey, data management, supervision of staff and cooperative agreement and contract management.

25% - Essential - Reporting:  Provides assistance to Assistant Director by researching and preparing reports and providing routine program updates.  Works with Department of Plant Industry Assistant Director and Invasive Species Program Manager to prepare and maintain annual ALB Cooperative Agreement.  Coordinates data collection and employee training, equipping and safety.  Negotiates contracts for inspection and survey services.

25% - Essential - Staff Management:  Manages and supervises field level supervisors and support staff, ensuring they are responsive and accountable to clients, efficient and productive in performing duties, and effective in communicating and carrying out ALB program as required by cooperative agreement.  Responsible for leading or overseeing hiring, training, and on-boarding processes.

10% - Essential - Budget Management: Responsible for preparing and managing ALB program budget and ensuring all aspects of South Carolina ALB program meet budgetary requirements of the cooperative agreement.

10% - Essential - Other:  Performs other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, attending Department of Plant Industry meetings, assisting in other DPI and Division program work, and attending and providing presentations at public meetings.


Education - High School Diploma or Equivalent and Work Exp 3+ years
Licenses - Driver's License Class D normal 


Education - Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience (Horticulture or other Ag/Science); Horticulture or other Ag or Science related field.
